“If I Were to Remain Silent, I’d be Guilty of Complicity.”

Albert Einstein

Here’s What You Can Do

If we don’t take committed action, Trump and the right wing extremists will roll back a century of progress, deny the fundamental rights guaranteed to all by our Constitution, and transfer every last ounce of wealth and power to the people and corporations that already control most of it (at the expense of everyone else).

The Cabinet members, Bannon and other advisors hand-picked by Trump (not for their qualifications, but simply because they supported HIM), are a group of billionaires, bankers, oil magnates and Wall Street insiders. They ARE the swamp!

Now, here’s what you can do:

  • Keep the pressure on. Show up and speak up. IT WORKS! Our constant and consistent participation is the key.
  • Think short term and actively respond to current attacks on our freedoms and civil liberties
  • Think long term and proactively plan for the next elections in 2017, 2018 and especially 2020. This is not a sprint. It is a marathon.
  • Participate in local politics. Form or join a local group to take action in your town. Go to City Council Meetings. Demand Town Hall Meetings with Congress members when they are in town. Be ready to act nationally when needed.

Never for one second, forget America is YOUR country and that the President and the members of Congress WORK FOR YOU!!!

Below is a check list of 10 specific steps you can take to do your part. You are being called to action.

 Here’s what YOU can do:

  • Spend just 10 minutes each day doing one of the following. I am sure you can agree that’s not asking too much. (Save or print the following information for future reference):

  • Get yourself prepared with good information. Up-to-date names and contact information of all the men and women in Congress is available at: http://capwiz.com/pfaw/directory/congdir.tt . This site also provides all contact information for all major news and network organizations. SAVE THIS LINK for all future communication.
  • Write/email/call members of congress – call them and tell them what concerns you and how you want them to vote.

  • Write/email/call:

Reince Priebus – Chair of the Republican National Committee: https://www.gop.com/contact-us/

Tom Perez – Chair of the Democratic National Committee: 202-863-8000

  • Write/email/call the White House – post card campaign. Send one/day: Share your opinions with him daily:

Mail your messages to:

President (for now) Donald J. Trump

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW

Washington D.C. 20500

Email messages to: president@whitehouse.gov. Enter the Subject information. Decide upon a good, simple subject to name your email. Consider using “Regarding [topic]” as a format.

Call: Comments: 202-456-1111 OR Switchboard: 202-456-1414

Compose your message in 140 characters or less and be sure to include the Twitter handles @WhiteHouse, @realDonaldTrump and/or @POTUS.

NOTE: Say what you want to say in a professional manner and do not include any overt or covert threats. The United States Secret Service takes these threats very seriously, and will investigate each one to ensure that the President of the United States is protected.

If your letter is judged to be a threat, odds are very good you will end up being investigated. Threatening the President of the United States is a Class E Felony, which carries a punishment that includes prison time (among other things), so weigh your words with care. [1]

  • Fact check. One of the most important things we can do is stand for the TRUTH. Don’t send info you haven’t fact-checked, don’t spread conspiracies (on all sides). Correct anything or anyone you know to be spreading false information. Trump HATES the truth!

PolitiFact: www.politifact.com   PolitiFact is  fact-checking website that rates the accuracy of claims by elected officials and others on its Truth-O-Meter.

Snopes: www.snopes.com The definitive Internet reference source for urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors, and misinformation.

Pros and Cons of Fact-checking sites:

  • Write to/email/call News Media and support good honest reporting and condemn anything that smacks of conspiracy or “alternative facts”. Tell them you want them to speak Truth to Power and to keep asking the questions until politicians actually answer them! Some relatively reliable news sources are:

NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, BBC, KQED, CNN, NPR, MSNBC (accurate, but tends to lean left),NYT, Wash Post, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, WSJ, The Atlantic and Politico.

The Daily Beast, The Huffington Post, Mother Jones and The New Yorker are some I really like.

In my opinion, FOX News is a puppet of the Trump administration, manipulates the truth and spreads conspiracies.

Call FOX News and complain about their severe bias:(888) 369-4762

  • Join Protest Marches – Attend Town Hall Meetings – show up in numbers with signs and feel free to speak up. Your voice matters:

Thank you for your patriotism, courage and strength.

“I am not a one in a million kind of girl. I am a once in a lifetime kind of woman.”

Pravinee Hurbungs

For the Love of the World

For the love of a tree…
She went out on a limb.
For the love of the sea…
She rocked the boat.
For the love of the earth…
She dug deeper.

For the love of community…
She mended fences.
For the love of the stars…
She let her light shine.
For the love of spirit…
She nurtured her soul.

For the love of a good time…
She sowed seeds of happiness.
For the love of the Goddess…
She drew down the moon.
For the love of nature…
She made compost.
For the love of a good meal…
She gave thanks.

For the love of family…
She reconciled differences.
For the love of creativity…
She entertained new possibilities.
For the love of her enemies…
She suspended judgment.

For the love of herself…
She acknowledged her worth.
And the world was richer for her.

This Is What Lisa Did . . .

I live in Healdsburg, CA. Lisa Steinkamp is my dear friend. Last week, she shared the following statement with the City Council members. She was there at the meeting as a citizen advocating for Human Rights, along with a standing room only crowd packed into the auditorium. Her poignant message calls for us TO ACT NOW. Please listen to her speak to them and to you now. . .

“My name is Lisa Steinkamp, and I am an immigrant.

My grandfather was an officer in the Wehrmacht. He was killed in 1939, fighting for a man who had promised to relieve the burden of poverty and repression for the common people of Germany. My grandmother raised her two children alone, starving in a war she did not understand. As an atheist and a liberal, she thought the leader of her country was demented.

This is the leader who sold his hatred as hope for the poorest citizens of his country, promising Germany First! in the rebuilding of a great nation.

The free press was called, “Lügenpresse,” which directly translates to “fake press”.

The free judiciary eroded with no place for independent judges who were not aligned with the ideology of the leader.

Specific groups of immigrants were blamed for major problems in society and a special task force rounded up these enemies of the state by “Schutzhaft”, protective custody. Prisons and camps were to rid the nation of this problem.

 It all sounds so familiar.

My grandmother watched this unfold and did nothing, deeply regretting it for the rest of her life.

We in this community however, are in a position to act. We can take a stance for what is good and right by making our city a sanctuary, or a safe haven, if you prefer.

Time is of an essence. The roundups have begun, and people across this nation are being detained and deported. Judge James Robart was shamed for disagreeing with the president, who declared the court system to be “a threat to national security”. The attacks on the press are ongoing, and white supremacy and hate crimes are surging since the election.

No, we are not the Third Reich. Far from it. But there are too many parallels to close our eyes and look away. You, members of the city council, don’t want to be in a situation in which your grandchildren ask you in years to come why you did nothing, when you were in the unique situation to do so.

Please don’t let your answer be that it was because you were worried about the potential loss of funding. Our roads, bridges and buildings can be repaired in four years, our hearts and communities cannot.

I respectfully ask you to consider these statements and adopt an amended resolution to keep everyone living in our town safe.” **

My friends, I am not an alarmist when I say that the groundwork of fascism is being laid. The situation is urgent. Any student of human behavior will tell you the President of the USA is a narcissistic sociopath and a pathological liar. He has mental disorders. There is nothing a power hungry, ego-centric personality like his would like more, than to be the Commander in Chief of another World War. It is the maniacal dream of every narcissist to be the ultimate ruler of the world.

Every decision and action he takes is totally and solely centered on himself and his own personal gain. Because of the immense power he has in his hands, he’s the most dangerous, authoritarian win/lose player we have ever had as the leader our democratic government. His constant lies, brutal bullying, racist attacks on the handicapped, Muslims, women, etc. etc. and attacks on the free press along with vindictive actions towards anyone who doesn’t obey him or agree with him make him the most unethical, immoral, deceitful man ever to sit in the White House.

Our democracy, our freedoms and our very way of life as decent human beings is under attack by the new president and his rich, entitled team of corporate ideologues. We have entered a very threatening time in our history that will define us for many years to come. Democracy is not a guarantee. It was hard earned over 200 years ago and since then has been defended with countless battles fought and precious lives lost. Lisa knows all too well that the future is now in her hands and her voice counts. She took a stand and spoke up. We must all do the same.

Anything of value takes hard work and attention. If we don’t take committed action, Trump and the right wing radicals will roll back a century of progress, deny the fundamental rights guaranteed to all by our Constitution, and transfer every last ounce of wealth and power to the individuals and corporations that already control most of it (at the expense of everyone else).

The Cabinet members, Alt-Right Bannon and other advisors hand-picked by Trump (not for their qualifications, but simply because they supported HIM), are a group of elite billionaires, bankers, oil magnates and Wall Street insiders, each with a self-serving agenda.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Keep the pressure on. Show up and speak up. IT WORKS! Your constant and consistent participation is the key.
Demand and attend Town Hall Meetings with Congress members when they are in town. Be ready to act nationally when needed.

1)  Sanctuary cities generally have policies or laws that limit the extent to which law enforcement and other government employees will go to by encouraging members of immigrant communities to work with police without fear of deportation. Such policies help authorities improve public safety by helping authorities identify and arrest dangerous criminals who might otherwise go undetected.
The San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi defends sanctuary city policy. “I firmly believe it makes us safer. We’re a world-renowned city with a large immigrant population. From a law enforcement perspective, we want to build trust with that population.
He is not alone. Safe haven policies are widely supported by police groups such as the International Association of Chiefs of Police and chiefs from the nation’s largest police departments because they help communities unite to fight crime.
2)  Yet, at the core of Trump’s domestic policy is his Immigration/Deportation Plan. At the joint session of Congress he said, “My plan will save billions and billions of dollars and make communities safe for everyone
Here’s the TRUTH:
The ICE budget increased 110% since 2009 ($9.2Billion to $19.3Billion) and the # of customs and border officers has grown 60% from 31K to 50K, (NYT) yet Trump still wants to hire another 15K. The estimated cost of doing so will create an additional $1.4Bllion – $1.5Billion annually (UPI).
Trump says the 2,000 mile wall will cost ~$10Billion. The MIT Tech Review issued a report on their study that says it will cost at least $40Billion! (And Mexico will pay for it! Ha!)
There is even a deeper cost: Undocumented workers work in all facets of American society, retail, restaurants, hotels, manufacturing and farming. The mass deportation of 11 million undocumented workers would immediately reduce the nations’ GDP by 1.4% and ultimately by 2.6% and reduce cumulative GDP over 10 years by $4.7 trillion!
Here’s the kicker: The number of Mexican immigrants is on the decline. According to Pew Research, more Mexicans left the USA than entered!
SUMMARY: It will take $20 billion/yr. to run Trump’s deportation system plus tens of $$billions to build the wall. His War on Immigration will be fought at a staggering economic and human cost.
Just who do you think is going to pay for that?

Never for one second, forget that America is YOUR country and that the President and the members of Congress WORK FOR YOU!!!

** Thanks to Lisa and countless other citizens like her, a resolution was passed by the City Council members to make Healdsburg a safe haven city!

“Excellence can be attained if you care more than others think is wise,  Risk more than others think is safe, Dream more than others think is practical, and expect more than others think is possible.”

The BE-DO-HAVE of Excellence

Personal transformation through my Self Mastery program is a special journey that seems to attract those who have a strong desire to excel. No one is perfect. We make mistakes, we misjudge, and we often fall short of our dreams, but we never stop moving forward.

Each day brings us closer to our ideal. Although perfection (which can never be attained) is fine to have as an ideal, it is the striving for excellence that will allow us to daily live life in an extraordinary way. The impossibility of perfection is no excuse for refusing to seek it while effectively embracing the journey towards that ideal which is called excellence.

In fact, if there is a single precept to which we need to dedicate ourselves, it is that of excellence – excellence in attitude, excellence in performance and excellence in our interrelationships with each other.

This dedication does not come cheaply. Every decision, every action, every result must be weighed consciously and often with discipline and attention to detail. The risks are also great, for when one emulates excellence, one does so with the full realization that one may not be up to the task – there is no assurance of success. However, when we realize the reward is worth the risk, then we persist.

To understand what enlightened people strive for, one must first understand how they define excellence. Excellence is the pursuit of the possible. Not what is possible given the weaknesses and limitations of the human condition, but what is possible given the remarkable achievements of human innovation, discipline, courage and intensity of purpose – the extraordinary results of human dedication to an idea, a vision, a principle, a pragmatic objective.

Many people are attracted to the higher purpose of making the world a better place in which to live. Many of us want our homes to be a more loving and supportive environment in which we can all grow. We want our jobs to be more healthy, balanced arenas in which we can prosper and succeed and we want ourselves to be the very best we can be. To accomplish all of this requires a committed dedication to purpose if anything of lasting value is to be achieved.

There are bound to be diversions and difficulties along the way, and while we are well intended, we also know that feeling of wanting to turn back or sitting tight where we are when we are required to risk or to take action.

There is one intense moment in that process when it becomes clear to us, however fleeting, that we do have a choice. And it is in this conscious moment we literally make the choice to win or lose, when we more fully than ever, face the implications of our intent.

Unfortunately, it’s not always an easy choice. More often than not, the moment of decision comes so quickly and so disarmingly, we are not even aware we decided anything. The feet get to moving, so to speak, and we’re backing up before we even recognize the moment of choice has passed us by. So be it. We’ve all been known to fail the test. But if soaring is our true objective, then we must again face the challenge and move forward with a renewed commitment.

Every day, each of us is faced with the challenges of living and we struggle with the obstacles presented to us through our relationships, our work and our community. We frequently trip and fall. We make many mistakes and we’re not always proud of our actions. Sometimes we doubt whether we are capable of handling the responsibilities and decisions in front of us.

At other times, we get discouraged and think about giving up our visions and dreams. We can be reactive and lose our tempers or get frustrated with some upset that enters our daily life. Life’s wonders as well as the disappointments and difficulties keep showing up whether we want them to or not.

This is why the Self Mastery enlightenment work is so important. Within it is every single tool you will ever need to assist you to stay on track. The process absolutely works. You, however, need to work the program. Maintaining the quality of your life is a lifetime journey of commitment to excellence in all that you do.

If you have never done the Self Mastery work . . . Do it!

If you did the Self Mastery work a while ago . . . Review it

If you have never read my book . . . Read it!

If you have never passed on the value of the Self Mastery program to others by encouraging them to do it . . . Share it!

BE the work, DO the work and you will HAVE the rich rewards enlightenment provides.

“Aspire greatly; anything less than a commitment to excellence becomes an acceptance of mediocrity.”

Brian Tracy
