WoW: In 2020, I Asked….

In 2020, I asked…

I asked for strength

And Life gave me difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for wisdom

And Life gave me problems to learn to solve.

I asked for balance

And Life gave me overwhelm to learn to set boundaries.

I asked for patience

And Life sent me challenges beyond my control.

I asked for prosperity

And Life gave me a brain and brawn to work.

I asked for work

And Life gave me the ability to be creative.

I asked for courage

And Life gave me danger to overcome.

I asked for self-control

And Life gave me temptations to learn to say, “No”.

I asked for love

And Life gave me people in need.

I asked for clarity

And Life gave me chaos to teach me focus.

I asked for success

And Life gave me failures to teach me perseverance.

I asked for a healthy perspective

And Life gave me plenty of times to laugh at myself.

I asked for favors

And Life gave me opportunities.

I asked for help

And Life gave me a mirror.

I received nothing I wanted

And everything I needed.

As we enter the year 2021, we have an open space to create whatever we want. Our lives will be as we make them through our own choices. May our actions, reactions and inactions reflect the lessons we have learned from this past year.

Although we are alone in our personal growth, let’s never forget we are in this experiment called “Life” together. Let’s support one another, care for one another, forgive one another (and yourself, too). Everyone did the best they could, (including you). Remember, there are only two reasons to go to the past…to learn from it and to bring along some nice memories. Let’s let 2020 go and open our hearts and welcome in a brand new year.

Happy Healthy New Year Everyone!

WoW: The Voices

The Voices

We all know the voices, the ones that rest within. One calls out to move forward, the other cautions to stay back. The adventurous voice breathes great quantities of oxygen into our lungs while the other takes in only enough to safely exist. They are in constant conflict and each urges us to LIVE…yet, one flies on the wings of trust and love as it sparks a connection with universal energy and all that ever was and ever will be, while the other scrambles backwards on feet of fear found only in the physical world of limitation. Each calls to us…

What do you long for…hunger for…starve for?

Which voice will win your game of life… survive or thrive…?

For Longing*

By John O’Donohue

Blessed be the longing that brought you here

And quickens your soul with wonder

May you have the courage to listen to the voice of desire

That disturbs you when you have settled for something safe.

May you the wisdom to enter generously into your own unease

To discover the new direction your longing wants you to take.

May the forms of your belonging – in love, creativity and friendship

Be equal to the grandeur and the call of your soul.

May the one you long for, longs for you.

May your dreams gradually reveal the destination of your desire.

May a secret Providence guide you thoughts and nurture your feelings.

May your heart never be haunted by ghost-structures of old damage.

May you come to accept your longing as spiritual urgency.

May you know the urgency with which your higher-self longs for you.

WoW: What Are YOU Worth?

“When you realize your self-worth, you’ll never sell yourself short again.”

What Are YOU Worth?

A father said to his daughter, “You graduated with honors, here is a car I acquired many years ago. It’s several years old. But before I give it to you, take it to the used car lot downtown and tell them you want to sell it and see how much they offer you.”

The daughter went to the used car lot, returned to her father and said,

“Dad, it’s not worth much at all, but if it’s okay with you, I think I’d rather have the money! They offered me $1,000 because it looks very worn out.”

The father said, “Take it to the pawn shop.”

The daughter shrugged and went to the pawn shop, and returned to her father and whined, “Dad, they were even worse! The pawn shop offered $100 because it was a very old car.” The father asked his daughter to go to a car club and show them the car.

Exasperated, the daughter begrudgingly took the car to the club. She returned and excitedly exclaimed to her father,” Wow, Dad, unbelievable!! Some people in the club offered $100,000 for it since it’s a Nissan Skyline R34, an iconic car and sought after by many.”

The father said to his daughter, “The right place valued the car the right way. That value was always there, but those who were ignorant of its worth did not see it.”

If you are not valued, do not be angry or frustrated, it simply means you are in the wrong place. Those who know your value are those who appreciate you. Never stay in a place where no one sees your value.

Many Thanks to my dear friend Sally von Rumohr for sharing this on Facebook
