People are Often Unreasonable

“People are often unreasonable, illogical,
and self-centered; forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
People may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,
you will win some
false friends and some
true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could
destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity
and happiness,
there may be jealousy;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often
forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the
best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the
best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.”

Mother Teresa

Thank you to my good friend, Bob Morley for sharing this.

The Best Proof of Love is Trust

“The best proof of love is trust.”

Dr. Joyce Brothers

“Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it.

From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse.
But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing….

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him.

This alone is amazing. If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.

Attached to the horse’s halter is a small bell. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two friends, you’ll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn’t too far behind to hear the bell.”

                                                                                                 Author Unknown

Like these two horses, sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of someone who cares and  other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way….

Good friends are like that… You may not always see them, but you know they are always there… ready to lend a helping hand whenever it is needed.

“Be kinder than necessary-
Everyone you meet is fighting
Some kind of battle.

Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly”

And give unconditionally from your heart . . .

The way may not always be evident but if you trust the love of a true friend, you will realize that we indeed do not reach our destination by sight alone. . .

Thank you to my good friend, Stephanie Hurtt for this sweet story.

Thank you to all of you who are playing the Six Degrees to Oprah Game!!

Six Degrees to Oprah Game

“We are all connected to everyone and everything in the universe. Therefore, everything one does as an individual affects the whole. All thoughts, words, images, prayers, blessings, and deeds are listened to by all that is.”  ~Serge Kahili King

Our government almost shut down because people are so politically polarized . .  .

Good, law abiding Muslims are rejected by their neighbors . . .

Racial stereotypes proliferate .  .  .

Teenagers commit suicide from being bullied . . .

Something is not working here! We must change the framework of thinking that perpetuates such division and hatred between different groups in our country and around the world.  We must get beyond name calling and find common ground and I believe it starts with you and me!

“We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone … and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something.” ~Sandra Day O’Connor

As a highly skilled and experienced human development trainer, I know how to change this thinking. I’ve been doing it for 33 years with over 25K people and BOY! Do I have an idea for a reality TV show for Oprah!!  Aligned with my vision of “A World That Works for Everyone” my approach breaks down prejudice, anger, resentment and judgments and builds honest connection between all people regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, political views, etc. . . .

No solution to any problem can occur whose central tenant is hate or anger and there is ONE KEYELEMENT that every angry person is missing.  Until we all learn what that is, we will truly destroy this great country and the quality of life as we know it.   However, the realization of this crucial key will be expsed in this program, opening the minds and touching the hearts of everyone watching. Gradually, one by one, people will awaken to another way of thinking and this awareness will affect the world around us.

Oprah needs to hear about this! Imagine the influence this show will have when it is broadcast to millions, especially to dedicated Oprah viewers. Imagine the press response. . . Imagine the impact . . .Imagine all the people. . .

But I can’t do it alone . . .

No doubt you have heard about the six degrees of separation, a theory that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries. This is why I am inviting you to play the Six Degrees to Oprah Game with me.

Would you be willing to be a part of this positive, powerful movement?  . . .

 Here’s how you can help  . . .

I need a direct introduction to Oprah herself, her friend, Gail or Oprah’s producer. Once they see what I can do, I am convinced they will be eager to produce it. Simply sending my video and proposal through the general mail isn’t going to get anywhere. It will be lost amidst thousands of others.

What do you think? Is this a game you’d like to play with me?

All you need to do is this:

1)     Send this email inquiry to the person you know (on a first name basis) who will be the most likely, out of all your friends, to know these three people personally.  Ask them if they will help us get this show on Oprah.

2)     If that person doesn’t know how to make direct contact with Oprah, Gail or the producer, then ask them to keep the ball rolling by sharing this email with the person they think is most likely to know them

3)     And so on until the email reaches someone who can provide a direct introduction to Oprah, her producer or Oprah’s friend, Gail

4)     If you are reading this and can directly provide an introduction to any one of these people, please let me know right away at:  marthaborst1@gmail.com

Based on scientific trials, six degrees of separation should take on average between 5 to 7 intermediaries to get the information needed.

Let’s raise the bar and bring social consciousness and integrity to social networking and an ethical morality to reality TV. Let’s bring this to OPRAH!!. I’d love for you to play the Six Degrees to Oprah Game with me. It will work if we are all committed to accomplishing something good. Every choice we make, makes a difference.

“The life I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and that in turn another, until who knows where the trembling stops or in what far place my touch will be felt.”  ~Frederick Buechner

(Don’t worry if you don’t know any famous people.  Just forward this right now to the person who is most likely to either know this information or who has a good network.  That’s all you have to do!)

THANK YOU for your participation
